Paprika is a ground spice made from dried mild red peppers (Capsicum annuum), sweet and fruity rather than hot, and sometimes smoked. A paprika flavour powder is a ready-made seasoning that builds on that taste for snacks. Recipes vary, but such powders typically contain paprika and other spices, onion and garlic, salt, sugar, flavour enhancers, flavourings and a carrier such as maltodextrin.
Fashion Food’s Paprika Flavoured Cracker uses 5% paprika flavour powder, and the rest of its label fits the pattern: maltodextrin, flavour enhancers (MSG and disodium ribonucleotides), paprika oleoresin (INS 160c (i)), a natural colour extracted from paprika, and the synthetic colour Sunset Yellow (INS 110).
Some paprika seasonings also contain milk, as cheese or whey powder, or wheat, so the full allergen statement is worth a look. The Thai label names it after phrik yuak, a mild Thai pepper of the same species.
