Fruit

Fruit as a snack ingredient: juices and concentrates, fruit powders, jam-like fillings, and whole preserved fruit such as plums and guava.

This page groups the fruit ingredients on snack labels, from whole fruit to juice concentrates, powders and fillings. Each has its own page; this one lists every snack that contains any of them. A fruit taste alone does not count: many fruit-flavoured snacks use only flavourings, and they are listed under the fruit flavour instead.

Juices and juice concentrates bring fruit taste, natural sugars and acidity, as in Cororo Grape Jelly, made with grape and apple juice concentrates. Dried fruit powders colour and flavour the creams of biscuit snacks such as Pocky Strawberry (Thailand) and Koala’s March Choco Banana. Fillings are fruit cooked down with sugar into a jam, like the strawberry, prune and apricot fillings of Denma filled cookie with fruits and the pineapple filling of Alice’s Pineapple Pastry.

Thai snacks also use whole preserved fruit: cured plums in Fuji Plum - Salted Cured Plums, and guava dusted with Chinese apricot powder in Doi Kham - Savoury Guava Chinese Apricot Flavor.
