Moniegold is a Thai brand of tamarind candy, and the name appears as both the brand and the company on its packs. Its sweets are made from sweet-and-sour tamarind pulp and come in several versions, including plum and mixed “five flavours” tamarind, in packs of different sizes that are also exported.
Tamarind sweets are a traditional Thai snack: the sticky, tangy pulp of the tamarind pod is mixed with sugar, salt and often chilli, then rolled into balls or pressed into pieces.
