Meiji Seika Kaisha, Ltd. was the confectionery company of Japan’s Meiji group and is the name printed on older packs of Hello Panda. Its roots go back to Tokyo Confectionery, founded in 1916. In 2009 it formed Meiji Holdings together with Meiji Dairies, and on 1 April 2011 its food business, including confectionery, passed to the new Meiji Co., Ltd., while Meiji Seika Kaisha itself was reorganised into the pharmaceutical company Meiji Seika Pharma.
Hello Panda biscuits are small, hollow shortbread-style shells filled with cream and printed with cartoon pandas playing sports and doing other activities. First baked in Japan, they began production abroad in Singapore in 1991 and are now sold in many countries. SeekSnack’s Hello Panda reviews, such as Hello Panda - Biscuits with Milk Flavoured Filling, cover milk and chocolate fillings in plain and cocoa shells.
The biscuits are made with wheat flour and contain milk.
