Toro is a popcorn brand from United Foods Public Co., Ltd., a Thai snack maker founded in 1975 that started with Sanghai chocolate-coated wafers and also makes Yoyo gummies, Time wafers and Gap biscuits. Toro popcorn is coated rather than salted, and comes in flavours such as super caramel, cara cheese, sweet corn, butter and almond.
SeekSnack has reviewed Toro Caramel, with a crunchy, sweet caramel shell, and Toro Cara Cheese, which mixes caramel popcorn and yellow cheese-coated popcorn in the same bag.
The caramel coating is made with butter oil, and the cheese version adds cheese powder, so Toro contains milk. The Cara Cheese colours include INS 102 and 110, azo colours that carry a warning label in the EU.
