Tasto is a potato chip brand sold in Thailand by Berli Jucker Foods Ltd. / Berli Jucker PLC (BJC). Its chips are made from sliced potatoes fried in palm olein and seasoned in flavours that suit Thai tastes.
The chip reviewed on SeekSnack is Tasto Signature Original Salted Egg, from Tasto’s Signature line. It is coated with a seasoning based on salted egg yolk powder, a rich, savoury flavour popular across Southeast Asia, with a light chilli kick. Other Signature flavours have included Sichuan pepper mala.
The salted egg seasoning means this chip contains egg. As with most flavoured chips, the seasoning also includes flavour enhancers such as monosodium glutamate.
