Taokaenoi is a Thai seaweed snack brand from Taokaenoi Food & Marketing Public Company Limited, founded in 2004 by Itthipat Peeradechapan and listed on the Stock Exchange of Thailand since 2015. The name means “little boss” in Thai, and the founder’s story inspired the 2011 Thai film The Billionaire.
The brand makes crispy, roasted and tempura seaweed, as well as Big Roll and Big Sheet snacks. SeekSnack has reviewed the Big Sheet, a large sheet of fried seaweed, in Spicy, Cheese and Caesar Salad flavours. Taokaenoi has also teamed up with Pringles on a seaweed-flavoured crisp.
The seaweed is fried in palm oil and seasoned; flavours vary, and cheese and salad-dressing seasonings may contain milk, so check the pack for allergens.
