Snack Jack is a green pea snack made in Thailand by Hanami Foods Co.,Ltd., a Bangkok company set up in 1985 through a joint venture with the Japanese snack maker Tohato. The snacks are extruded from green peas into light, crunchy pieces, then seasoned.
SeekSnack has reviewed Snack Jack Original, salty with a clear pea flavour, and a Sour Cream flavour with a stronger, tangier seasoning. Hanami’s current range also includes ring-shaped pieces and flavours such as nori wasabi and shiitake.
Green peas are the main ingredient. The seasonings use flavour enhancers such as monosodium glutamate, and some flavours contain seaweed or milk ingredients, so check the pack for allergens.
