Chocobi began as the favourite snack of Shinnosuke, the boy in the anime Crayon Shin-chan, and is now a real one: small, star-shaped corn puffs, sweet and crunchy. In Japan it is made by Tohato Inc., which has developed it together with Bandai since 2006.
A Thai version is made in Thailand under licence from Bandai by Big One Intertrade Co., Ltd, a Thai snack company whose own brands include Bigga. SeekSnack has reviewed the Thai Chocobi Chocolate, which came with Shin-chan stickers and a paper puzzle, and Tohato’s Japanese milk flavour, a white star with a soft milky smell.
The chocolate version is made from corn, rice flour and palm oil with cocoa, butter and milk powder, so it contains milk.
